Sweden Post Contract Strengthens NETdelivery's Position As Leading Electronic Document Delivery Provider
NETdelivery to Help Build Scandinavia's First Online Postal Service For E-Business
LONDON, (IQPC e-post Summit), March 29 /PRNewswire/ — Sweden Post's recently announced contract with EDS, who has contracted Checkfree i-Solutions and NETdelivery Corporation, for a comprehensive e-business solution for online postal services further positions NETdelivery as the leading provider of advanced electronic document delivery systems. NETdelivery's technology platform has now been selected by the world's only two online postal services — as Sweden Post joins Canada Post's EPOST in offering Internet-based capabilities for businesses and consumers within their countries.
NETdelivery partnered with EDS, and Checkfree i-Solutions, an operating group of Checkfree, to build a comprehensive electronic billing system and secure electronic document delivery solution. Together, the companies expect to provide Sweden Post's business and consumer customers with online services during 2001.
“Extending our service offering beyond traditional physical mail delivery into the digital age of the Internet will provide our customers with immediate benefits — including faster delivery times, increased convenience and substantial cost-savings,'' said Anders Thoursie of Sweden Post. “NETdelivery's experience developing EPOST's successful online system will help transform the way people send and receive documents for e-business applications.''
Key among the reasons that Sweden Post selected NETdelivery's technology was because of its successful development of the Electronic Post Office(TM) for EPOST(TM) (www.epost.ca) the first, large-scale, national electronic document and EBPP service in the world, now available and free to every Canadian. The company's technology provides secure, reliable, easy and fast delivery of e-content over the Internet. Complete authentication and security functions allow users to transmit documents via the Internet with the trust and confidence of today's traditional mail or overnight package delivery services.
“Postal organizations are moving quickly to offer online services that enable quick and cost-effective delivery of documents for both e-business and personal applications,'' says Richard Stranger, president and CEO of NETdelivery. “For the Sweden Post effort we're pleased to partner with industry leaders EDS and Checkfree to develop electronic document and bill payment systems that will dramatically change the way people conduct business on the Web.''
EDS will integrate the Checkfree and NETdelivery solutions together with existing applications at Sweden Post. The system will help businesses reduce their billing costs by offering the same document security and privacy found in today's physical mail delivery systems. From a consumer perspective, customers will be able to use the Web-based system for communicating with the general public, businesses, government departments and agencies for all types of information, including letters, electronic forms, advertising and statements.
