DHL strengthens presence in the Philippines

DHL continues to strengthen its presence in the Philippines with the recent opening of a new DHL Service Point in Clark, Pampanga. Exports in Clark have been reported to be increasing. Last year, Clark’s exports have reached more than $1bn. Furthermore, the Clark Special Economic Zone (CSEZ), a 28,000-hectare area, is increasingly becoming a hub for business, industry, aviation, and tourism in the Philippines as well as an entertainment and gaming centre of Asia. On top of that, the Subic-Clark Alliance for Development Council (SCAC) recently announced its development of the 98,020-hectre Subic-Clark logistics corridor, which will improve transactions made between the two key areas.

With the addition of the DHL Clark Service Point, business communities in the area will be able to experience faster delivery with later pick-up times, providing a major boost in their daily business productivity.

“The opening of our newest Service Point in Northern Luzon is another milestone for DHL Philippines to solidify our presence in the Northern Luzon Triangle, namely Subic, Clark and Bataan. We believe that it is one of our main responsibilities as the market’s leading express delivery company to reach out to a wide customer base in Clark and provide them with DHL’s top-of-the-line quality and on-time service,” said DHL country manager for the Philippines, Ahmad Mohamad.

In line with DHL’s overall commitment to accelerate its North Luzon operations, the launch of the Clark Service Point follows the opening of its Subic Service Point in October 2007. Like the one in Subic, the DHL Clark Service Point will offer the same full suite of top express courier services. It is equipped with the latest shipment tracking devices and programs, package sorting and distribution, access control and surveillance systems to ensure that shipments do not get lost and are delivered on time.

The new DHL Clark Service Point complements DHL’s series of recent regional investments, such as the addition of Boeing 747- 400F to its Asia Air Network and the expansion of the Express gateway at Incheon International Airport. DHL is also looking into creating new products and services that will cater to the specific needs of the various industries found in CSEZ.
