DPD add to COD network

From 1 June, DPD Germany is offering cash-on delivery (COD) parcels service to Romania and Estonia.

From 1 June, DPD Germany is offering cash-on delivery (COD) parcels service to Romania and Estonia.

The company also said they plan to add to their network of COD services later this year.

DPD state that the current financial crisis has seen a rapid rise in the demand for safe payment methods for parcel deliveries in eastern and southern Europe, with COD services attributing to more than 20% of the company’s shipping volumes in selected regions.

CEO Arnold Schroven said that the current trend has forced DPD to extend COD services.

At present DPD offers a COD service in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Estonia, Croatia, Romania, Switzerland, Serbia, Slovenia and Czech Republic. There are international cash on delivery solutions between Germany, Benelux and Austria, as well as between Germany and Czech Republic.
