The article continues:

The incident reportedly occurred around 8.30am on the 600th block of East Park Avenue. A man, believed to be in his late 40s or early 50s, was killed instantly in the crash, Long Beach police Lt. Bruce Meyer said. Police did not release the victim’s name, pending notification of next of kin.

In addition, the driver of the FedEx truck and a woman seated in one of the cars parked outside of her family’s kosher deli waiting for her son to bring her food, were also injured in the crash. The pair was rushed to area hospitals and their conditions were not immediately available.

Witnesses told Nassau County police the FedEx truck was travelling “at a high rate of speed” prior to the crash and side swept a line of parked cars.
