Mavros appointed at Hellenic Post

Stamatis Mavros has been named chief executive officer & managing director of Hellenic Post in Greece. Mavros replaces outgoing CEO Dr Andreas Taprantzis.

Prior to his appointment with Hellenic Post, Mavros was a trustee in PROTON BANK and a member of the Supervising Council for the liquidity of the banking system. He also has served as a Consultant to the Management of the Hellenic Post Bank.

In May 2004, Mavros was appointed chairman of the Organization for the Promotion of the Greek Civilization – Cultural Olympics 2001-2004, where he focused his efforts on the completion of the cultural program that Greece had to implement in the context of the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.

In 1990, he was one of the co-founders of the Information Center for Europe, Education and Development “Action ´92”, an institution that offered free information for postgraduate studies and scholarships. During this time, Mavros also was the publisher of the newspaper Democratic Pioneer.

He is a graduate of the Department of Economics of the National and Capodistrian University of Athens.
