La Poste Airline: Planes for Italian Post
The French post office’s airline subsidiary, Europe Airpost, said it eyeing further dry-leases to Italian operator, Miniliner, which operates domestic air cargo services on behalf of the Italian post office. Miniliner is the Italian arm of European freighter leasing and air broker, Farner Europe. ‘We now dry-lease three F27Fs to Miniliner and depending on how quickly the Italian post office’s dedicated domestic air cargo network develops, there is scope for us to provide additional F27Fs and perhaps some of our B737 aircraft in cargo configuration,’ Europe Airpost’s Claude Viet said.” Airpost’s president and CEO Viet remarked, “[T]he dry-lease arrangement had begun on a gradual basis around six months ago with the third F27F being delivered to Miniliner at the end of March. ‘However, what we wish to make clear is that this activity in no way forms part of any alliance between the French and Italian post offices,’ he added. ‘We are simply providing aircraft to the latter’s air cargo agent. Nor are there any plans, contrary to your own report on Monday, for the two postal utilities to launch a joint air cargo service between Paris and Rome,'” Viet told Reuters.
