Georg Pölzl takes up CEO role at Austrian Post

Georg Pölzl has been appointed chairman of the Management Board and chief executive officer of Austrian Post. In June of this year, the Supervisory Board of Austrian Post appointed Pölzl as the new CEO for the five-year period ending September 30, 2014.

Rudolf Jettmar, who managed the company on an interim basis, will remain as Austrian Post’s CFO and deputy chairman of the Management Board. “I would like to thank Mr. Jettmar and all the members of the Management Board for their outstanding work, and look forward to working together with them”, said Pölzl.

“I am assuming this responsible position with great pleasure but also considerable respect for the formidable challenges facing Austrian Post due to the process of market liberalisation and changes in the postal business”, he added. “For this reason, my priority during the upcoming weeks will be to also get to know Austrian Post from the inside”, Georg Pölzl concludes.
