GeoPost UK Projecting 10% Annual Growth
Parcels delivery firm GeoPost UK, the British subsidiary of state-owned French postal operator La Poste, is targetting growth of at least 10 percent a year, the unit’s ceo Colin Millbanks said on Thursday. ‘We expect Interlink volume to be up 10 percent by the end of the year,’ he told a news conference. Interlink is one of GeoPost’s two main brands operating from its Birmingham site. He said the UK operation had seen 17 percent revenue growth in the past 12 months. ‘We won’t be able to do that this year,’ he added. He was speaking at the inauguration of a new sorting hub for Interlink. The other brand, Parceline, operates from an older facility at the same site and both were acquired when La Poste bought Mayne Nickless Europe last year.” Reuters: “Speaking at the hub inauguration, Millbanks said the Interlink facility could now handle 20,000 packages per hour, operating between 8 pm and 2am, 14,000 more than the previous building. The new 100,000 sq ft facility is the result of a 15 million pound investment and Millbanks said that moving into the new building had created an extra 150 jobs.
