Australia Post launches legal action over picket lines

Legal action is being taken by Australia Post against the union for postal workers. The action, launched in Melbourne’s Federal Court, is in response to strike action on 16 December, and picket lines at mail centres in Dandenong, Melbourne Airport, Geelong and Ardeer.

The union ordered a strike over pay and working conditions, lasting for 48 hours.

Australia Post is seeking injunctions against the picket lines, claiming they breach national workplace laws. The Federal Court has heard Australia Post wants the injunctions in place urgently, so mail can be processed this evening, reports ABC.
