La Poste parcel post ops targets place in European top 3La Poste parcel post ops targets place in European top 3

La Poste is aiming to be one of the top three parcel post
deliverers in Europe according to chairman Martin Vial speaking in an
interview on Europe 1 radio.
He said La Poste had been positioning itself for the last two years against
competition from the German and Dutch markets.
“That is why we have taken eminent positions in the 3 largest parcels
markets in Europe: Germany, where La Poste is the second biggest parcel post operator, Great Britain where it is fourth, and France where it is the leader, with those three markets accounting on their own for two thirds of the European
market,” he said.
Vial also called attention to La Poste’s cooperative relationship with Italy
which is another important aspect for expansion.
“There are countries where we would make acquistions and others where we
would prefer partnerships, notably with Southern countries,” he said.
