Itella appeal rejected

The Administrative Court of Helsinki has rejected Itella’s appeal for suspending the enforcement of the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority’s request for a service report. The decision by the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority requires Itella to submit a report on the cost basis of universal service products in a manner specified by the Authority – Itella finds that this manner does not adhere to the postal services legislation.

For Itella, this is a matter of how costs are allocated among newspaper delivery and universal services for letters, for example.

Itella has not yet decided upon measures due to the above decision.

The decision now made by the Administrative Court only applies to the enforcement of the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority’s decision. The actual appeal case remains open and is still being processed by the Administrative Court.
