Poste Italiane to Reduce Workforce
Corriere della Sera, a newspaper, reports that, “Italian post office Poste Italiane has announced it is planning to cut its workforce by around 9,000. The state-owned body asked to meet unions to discuss the issue, but received a negative response from the CGIL, CISL and UIL, which are threatening to call strike action. The unions accuse Poste Italiane of wanting to launch an ‘unacceptable’ procedure, which they say will result in a series of collective lay-offs.”
