DSV strengthens international parcel activities (Ny international alliance styrker DSV)

De Sammensluttede Vognmand (DSV), the Danish transportation group, is strengthening its position on the international parcel market through an alliance with La Poste and Poste Italiene, the French and Italian post offices respectively. DSV automatically acquired a stake in Dansk Pakke Distribution, the Danish distributor of parcels, when it acquired DFDS Transport, its Danish competitor, last year. Dansk Pakke Distribution is controlled by La Poste. La Poste entered a parcel agreement with Poste Italiene last week which will strengthen the position of Dansk Pakke Distribution and therefore DSV. Parcels from Italy will be transported by DSV on the last part of the route to Denmark. DSV aims to spin off its parcel division in the future and to strengthen its position within this area through alliances.
