New Singapore-Balikpapan service launched by DHL

DHL Express has launched a direct flight from Singapore to Balikpapan, Indonesia, to meet the surge in cargo transportation from the city state to East Kalimantan, a company executive said. Ahmad Mohamad, the senior technical advisor PT Birotika Semesta/DHL, said in Balikpapan on Wednesday that the direct flight service was provided in cooperation with PT Tri-MG Intra Asia Airline.

He said that the airline, with its Boeing 737 airplane, serves the Singapore-Balikpapan route four times a week – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

“The new service, which has a payload of 16 tonnes, is the second to be provided by DHL in Indonesia after the Singapore-Jakarta service launched in 2004,” he said.
