La Poste confirms MVNO possibilities

La Poste has confirmed that it is considering launching an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) service, and will start searching for a mobile network operator partner during the week of 15 March, reports Trading Markets. The article continues:

La Poste stated that it would simply be consulting potential partners at this stage and may go forward based on the results of these talks.

Les Echos recently reported that La Poste planned to offer postpaid and prepaid mobile services using its own brand, selling the service though its 17,000 post offices.

Separately, the postal service unveiled a secure online storage service for consumers and businesses called “Digiposte”. The service will allow businesses to manage and store their e-mail, and electronic invoices, bank statements and pay slips in a single location.

Payroll management specialist ADP is the first company to adopt Digiposte’s payslip mailing, receiving and managing service. More functionalities will be added progressively. A free version of the service for consumers will be introduced in the middle of April.
