Australia Post launches Future Ready

Australia Post’s new chief executive Ahmed Fahour has announced the launch of a new initiative to help the operator benefit from the growth of the Internet and e-commerce.
The new five-year programme, called ‘Future Ready’, was unveiled during a staff presentation and will see the Post restructure into four separate bodies – Postal Services, Retail Services, Express Distribution Services and E-Services.

“While the internet is the lesser business’s worst enemy, it is the parcel business’s best friend,” said Fahour, according to Business Spectator. “Future Ready will see a new structure put in place bedded down in 2010/11 and then a shift to a rebuilding and growing phase in 2012 and beyond.”
