FedEx lifts restrictions on freight destined for Europe

FedEx Express is accepting all freight destined for Europe, as normality resumes after the volcanic ash delays earlier this month. The company announced on April 23 it was resuming service to Europe from all points it serves globally and was lifting restrictions on International Priority Premiums (IP1) and International Economy Freight (IEF) as well as reinstating the Company’s Money Back Guarantee on all eligible shipments. Effective immediately FedEx is also accepting International Express Freight (IXF) and Airport-to-Airport (ATA).

FedEx Express began restoring its service to Europe on April 18 with flights from the US, Asia and the Middle East to and from Charles de Gaulle in Paris and has steadily increased its operations as more airports in Europe re-opened. The Company indicated that in the period April 19 through April 22, it has flown 7.7m pounds of freight or the equivalent of 53 MD-11’s inbound and outbound from Europe.
