La Poste to up postage rates

La Poste will increase postage rates by an average of 1.6% this summer. After 16 months without a price rise, the new structure will take effect on 1 July.

The price of a letter less than 20 grams in weight will increase to 58 cents, up 2 cents.

La Poste said that the “postage rate remains among the most competitive and Europe and will enable the Post Office to provide funding for the Universal Postal Service”.

The rising price of stamps will have “little impact” on households, the operator said.

For companies, which contribute almost 90% of the mail stream in France, La Poste has taken into account the “difficult economic environment” and has adjusted its tariff adjustments accordingly:

– For large mailers, the rates of relational and offers e-mail advertising will not increase this year.

– To meet the expectations of its customers in simplifying its supply and its prices, the post office has established a fee schedule for dedicated professionals, freelancers and very small businesses.
