Aramex receives TAPA accreditation in the Netherlands

Aramex has been awarded Class A status by the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) for its Amsterdam facility in the Netherlands. TAPA is a forum which unites global manufacturers, logistics providers, freight carriers, law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders with the common aim of reducing losses from international supply chains.

The association has developed a worldwide freight security standard which specifies minimum acceptable security requirements for assets travelling throughout the supply chain and the methods to be used in maintaining those standards. Class A accreditation means that the Amsterdam facilities comply with the highest levels of security under TAPA.

“‘Safeguarding our people’s safety and our customers’ products are priority issues for Aramex,” said Aramex general manager Netherlands, Marco Klaassen. “Following a rigorous inspection process, we are delighted to have been granted Class A certification for our Amsterdam station.”

TAPA standards are regarded as the premier guides for practical security and safety methodology. In The Netherlands, LR (Lloyds Register Quality Assurance) evaluates forwarders based on such criteria as facility security, alarm equipment, CCTV, lighting, personnel, truck acceptance and dispatch management, use and control of locks and security cards, checks of cargo delivery and receipt together with management control of documents, records and information before granting TAPA certification.
