TNT Express celebrates new RS contract
TNT Express has been awarded a new contract by RS Components to carry out all of its domestic deliveries in France and Italy. This is new business for TNT in Italy and a contract renewal for TNT in France.
RS Components is the world’s largest distributor of electronics and maintenance products.
The two-year contract involves the next-day delivery of a wide variety of electronic, electric and mechanical components to RS Components’ customers; largely research and development or maintenance engineers.
The deliveries, although primarily domestic, will also include several shipments from the UK.
“We are proud to help RS deliver their products quickly and efficiently,” said Joris Oudenhuijzen, global industry director electronics, TNT Express. “Online sales represent close to one-half of their revenues. This calls for very flexible and fast transport services. TNT put forward its domestic capabilities in France and Italy and strong air connectivity with the UK.”
Commenting for RS, Philip Ferry, global freight manager, said: “TNT shares our philosophy for high quality service delivery to our customers and this new contract builds on an already strong and positive relationship we have with TNT.”
TNT Express already works for RS Components in the UK, Singapore, Thailand, and Germany. The new contract supports TNT’s ambition to leverage its domestic parcel networks across Europe.
