Jersey Post to improve IT services
Jersey Post will launch new state-of-the-art IT and technical services next year as a result of a new partnership arrangement with Syntel. The new services will range from postage on-line – enabling customers to pay for and print postage labels at home – to business customer systems enabling on-line billing and payment capabilities.
Jersey Post Group CEO Ian Carr said: “We carried out extensive research to find a suitable partner so we were able to move more of our services on-line and meet our demanding timetable for the development of new business applications.
“Syntel’s experience delivering on-line logistics solutions to major global companies will greatly improve our own internet presence and give us vital additional IT capability and efficiency, allowing us to offer new technology-based services via our website and ultimately electronic mail boxes. This will help us reduce costs and offer enhanced customer service.”
Amit Chatterjee, Syntel’s head of European operations said: “We are delighted to be selected by Jersey Post as their strategic IT partner. We’re looking forward to working closely with their IT teams to streamline their operations, deliver innovative, customer-driven solutions and maximise the return on their technology investments.”
The new partnership will enable Jersey Post to become more competitive by using a single prime supplier with proven international experience and competitive pricing. Syntel will also make the necessary improvements to
Jersey Post’s existing IT systems to deliver greater efficiency, help strengthen the business and provide a much wider range of services directly to customers, underpinning its current Business Transformation Programme.
