DHL launches doorway to one-stop solution

DHL has launched DHL DOOR-TO-MORE for customers seeking a one-stop solution for complex international distribution. Launched by its Global Forwarding division, the new service helps customers consolidate their international shipments, and clear them as a single shipment through customs.

Upon arrival in the destination country by sea or air, the shipment is broken down and delivered to multiple end-customers. The solution offers businesses lower import costs, reduced storage time and the elimination of costly warehousing. Businesses also benefit from faster time-to-market and better cash flow.

DHL Global Forwarding’s DHL DOOR-TO-MORE service will compliment DHL BREAK BULK EXPRESS which is a similar consolidated service for customers who have urgent and highly time sensitive shipments.

DHL BREAK BULK EXPRESS consolidates urgent air Express shipments, and delivers overnight to major cities in Asia or in two to three days to secondary cities in Asia as well as the US and Europe.

The popularity of DHL BREAK BULK EXPRESS service has led to the expansion of the service for customers who want greater flexibility of shipping and transit time options now available through DHL DOOR-TO-MORE.

Amadou Diallo, CEO, Africa and South Asia Pacific, DHL Global Forwarding, said: “As the global economy is still recovering from the recession and businesses remain cost-conscious, DHL is addressing the demand by companies for a wider variety of logistics solutions. Offering DHL DOOR-TO-MORE service by sea and air opens a wider range of service options to customers across all industries, especially in consumer products and services, high tech as well as engineering and manufacturing.”
