French strike to hit mail deliveries

The French postal system will be disrupted today (Tuesday) due to industrial action. For the fourth time this month, many public sector workers, including numerous staff at La Poste, will boycott work in response to the government’s plans to rise the retirement age in France to 62.

According to media reports in France, the workers are threatening open-ended strikes.

Many flights to and from Paris’ two airports will be cancelled, with pubic transport and schools also being affected.
