Deutsche Post's first-half net drops (ABIX Summary)

Deutsche Post recorded an operating profit of XEU1.41bn for the first six months of 2001. The result represents an increase of 5.5% for the German-based postal service. The share price of Deutsche Post decreased by 2.6% to XEU17.06 on 21 August 2001. The prediction is that operating profit margins will be between 7.3% and 8% in 2001-2002. There was an operating profit of XEU114m for the express services of the post office.

There was an operating profit of XEU74m at the logistics division. There was a 7% increase in sales to XEU16.8bn. The prediction is that net profit in 2001 will be around XEU1.53bn
