DHL Supply Chain extends partnership with Pfizer Australia
The Australian arm of DHL Supply Chain will work with Pfizer Australia to expand the pharmaceutical giant’s distribution network. DHL Supply Chain has been delivering prescriptions to more than 5,000 pharmacies across Australia since the beginning of the month.
The partnership has been formed in an attempt to enhance Pfizer’s direct distribution network.
DHL Supply Chain vice president, life sciences and healthcare Australia, Saul Resnick, said: “DHL has been servicing Pfizer Australia for over 10 years. We have a shared objective that the service provided to pharmacies is reliable, consistent and effective.
“DHL will be measured on the ease and reliability of supply and we aspire to be the benchmark by which others measure themselves in the critical supply of medicines to the Australian community.”
Resnick added that DHL Supply Chain has made investments in its own infrastructure to maximise its efficiency for the partnership with Pfizer.
This includes the expansion of distribution centres being used as a part of the deal, from two to seven, as well as installing pick-to-light systems and adding 100 staff to its ranks.
