Amsterdam-Milan: new intermodal connection

Amsterdam and Milan have a new Air cargo connection, thanks to Jan de Rojk Logistics and KLM Cargo. The pair are transporting full pallets on a fast shuttle train equipped with standard swapbodies. The OverNight Express service offers a much faster transit time than normal freight-by-rail, because the swapbodies are coupled to an intercity passenger train. For instance, cargo landing in the late afternoon at Malpensa will arrive at Schipol in 20 hours, including the transfer times from airport to rail head and vice versa.
