Pitney Bowes expands transactional mail printing line-up

Pitney Bowes is expanding its line of IntelliJet Printing Systems for transactional mailers, with the launch of a system offering a scalable 42-inch wide web format. The IntelliJet 42 Printing System can process 4-up letter-size transactional statements in full digital colour at up to 5,200 impressions per minute, the company said, processing transactional jobs as quickly as items can be printed.

The new machine combines with Pitney Bowes’ Production Intelligence software, hardware and customer support services for the production of targeted, personalised transactional statements.

It joins a Pitney Bowes product line-up that already includes the IntelliJet 20 and IntelliJet 30 Printing Systems.

Ramesh Ratan, president of Pitney Bowes Document Messaging Technologies, said it would allow mailers to produce high volumes of data-driven four-colour communications in a “highly efficient” process.

He said: “This unique combination of print speed, format size and consistent print quality can help organizations effectively produce highly personalized, data-rich customer communications that can drive both bottom line and top line results for their business.”

The IntelliJet 42 makes use of HP inkjet technology, with Pitney Bowes one of HP’s global alliance partners, and is based on the HP T400 Color Inkjet Web Production System.

Aurelio Maruggi, vice president and general manager of Inkjet High-speed Production Solutions at HP said: “As HP’s global alliance partner for the transactional market, Pitney Bowes has brought the knowledge, experience and customer engagement to create a strong offering for high-volume, high-integrity print and mail operations.”

Together, these elements result in a truly integrated solution for companies where mail plays a strategic role in customer communications.

Now available for order, the IntelliJet 42 systems are scheduled to ship during the second half of this year.
