La Banque Postale and Western Union launch new bank card
La Banque Postale has joined forces with Western Union to launch a new bank card that covers banking services and remittances in France. The new service will offer the functionality of a conventional bank card, and the full suite of benefits of Western Union’s gold! card to facilitate money transfers.
La Banque Postale, the banking subsidiary of La Poste Group, is a major player in France for international money transfers.
A statement said: “The holders of the new card will have the services of La Banque Postale, while enjoying the benefits of the loyalty programme of a leading global money transfers operator, with approximately 445,000 agents in 200 countries and territories.”
The partnership confirms La Banque Postale’s “commitment to innovation”, the company said.
Western Union claimed the new service would make money transfers “very practical” to customers.
Benefits of the gold! card include time-saving immediate identification at branches, a loyalty point system, and a SMS alert service, as well as providing a number of special offers to customers.
Jean-Marie Dragon, marketing director, La Banque Postale said: “This reflects the commitment of La Banque Postale and Western Union to offer more innovative solutions; meeting the needs of our customers while rewarding their loyalty.”
Marie-Elise Droga, regional director, France & Benelux, Western Union, said: “We are very pleased to launch this card along with our partner La Banque Postale, which reflects our common desire to be closer to the needs of our users by offering more choices and rewarding their commitment to our brand.”
Currently, La Banque Postale has more than 10m customers, 17,000 contact points, and more than 6.6m bank cards in use (covering 10.8% of the market).
