FedEx Express given environmental accreditation in Paris

FedEx Express has been recognised for its environmental management of its European hub at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle in France. The company received ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) 14001:2004 certification, for managing in a “resourceful and responsible manner that minimises environmental impact”.

ISO 14001:2004 certification is an internationally recognised standard granted to companies that meet a stringent set of demands relating to environmental management system.

The certification demonstrates FedEx commitment to putting environmental sustainability at the heart of its business practices and forms part of a wider commitment to improve its environmental performance, a statement said.

Julien Ducoup, managing director hub operations, FedEx Express France, said: “The CDG Hub is the first International Express Hub receiving the environmental certification ISO 14001:2004 for all its activities highlighting FedEx’s commitment to delivering tangible and practical improvements to its business practices and making its operations environmentally sustainable.

“Saving energy and making our operations more efficient is good for our business and good for the environment.”

The ISO 14001:2004 certification of the Roissy-Charles de Gaulle hub complements the 50 FedEx UK facilities which have been awarded the same certification since 2008.
