Express service provider TNT has officially inaugurated a huge new logistics centre at Wiesbaden (Germany).

TNT Germany laid the foundations of the world’s third-largest logistics facility and of its new branch in Wiesbaden in January 2000. The installation’s name: TNT Mega Hub Rhein Main.
Little over a year later, in February of this year, the huge terminal was put into operation and recently officially inaugurated. The six-storey building comprises a total area of 62,500 sqm, 26,000 sqm of which is landscaped. Handling areas account for nearly 11,500 sqm, while office space occupies another 4500 sqm. There are 166 docking bays (70 for vans and 96 for trucks) along the 320 m side of the warehouse. The logistics centre’s maximum capacity is 500 tonnes of express freight per night, which corresponds to about 30,000 handled shipments per hour.
