DHL sponsors Manchester United training kit

Deutsche Post DHL has extended its sponsorship with the biggest football club in the world, Manchester United. The new four-year deal will see DHL as the club’s first official training kit sponsor, with branding to be worn on training shirts worn by all Manchester Utd first team, reserve team and youth team players during domestic competitions.

It follows on from a year in which DHL has been the club’s official logistics partner, in which its support has included logistics for Manchester United’s pre-season tour to the United States this summer.

Celebrating the extended partnership, DHL will be delivering specially-commissioned commemorative scarves to the 73,000 fans attending tonight’s match against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.

John Pearson, CEO DHL Express (Europe) said: “Building on our current relationship with the world’s biggest football club reflects our ability to provide unparalleled logistics services for customers across the globe.”

Manchester United, listed as the most valuable football club in the world by Forbes Magazine, said DHL’s global presence and its international standing were a “perfect fit” for the club.

The club’s commercial director Richard Arnold said: “DHL have been a great partner to work with and have integrated with the Club’s operations seamlessly. The work they did around this summer’s US tour was striking and we are looking forward to developing a broader relationship in the future.”
