DHL pact with Unishippers is gateway to network

DHL WORLDWIDE EXPRESS PACT WITH UNISHIPPERS IS GATEWAY TO NETWORK DHL WORLDWIDE EXPRESS HAS LINKED WITH INTERNATIONAL TRANSPORTATION SERVICES PROVIDER UNISHIPPERS.

Of special benefit to DHL is expected to be Unishippers’ 200,000 business network, the companies said in a statement. Synergies are seen through combining of DHL’s large company customer base with Unishippers’ small to medium-sized market segment.

‘This alliance will enable Unishippers to leverage DHL’s unparalleled air express service across the globe,’ said Jeffrey Corbett president, DHL.

‘In turn, DHL will widen exposure for its suite of international services through Unishippers International franchisee network.’ The partners see particular advantages accruing to the smaller end of the market.

‘We’re excited about bringing DHL’s premium product to our customers,’ Unishippers’ president and chief executive Steve Nelson said. ‘This new partnership will enable us to provide them with a wider range of international express options, enabling them to choose the best service and value to fit their needs.’ Founded in 1987, Unishippers has approximately 300 franchise units, 350 sales representatives, and Dollars 250m in annual revenues.
