The second PostEurop IT Forum, the ePostEurop Forum 2001 was held in Budapest, hungary on 11 May 2001. It was organised by the PostEurop Electronic Information Forum Project in co-operation with the Hungarian Post Office Ltd. as host and the PostEurop headquarters.

The goal of this meeting was to present information on the latest development trends of the new technologies relevant to the postal sector, introducing ways and methods of their application. The topics of the presentations were primariy based on the EU’s eEurope initiative and the PostEurop Strategic IT Study.

As Chairman of the ePostEurop Forum 2001 I am pleased to preesent to you the final product of the symposium, a CD-ROM which contains the whole material of the presentations delivered at the conference. You will also find, as complementary information, the biography of the speakers and the Minutes of the evenet summarising the most important points and conclusions, published in the PostEurop Member Information Bulletin, July 2001 issue.

Last but not least I would like to address my special thanks to the Hungarian Post Office Ltd. for the excellent organisation and also to the PostEurop Headquarters for co-ordinating the preparations.

Hoping that our efforts were successful, I wish you a lot of success in your future work in the postal sector, applying the newest experiences in the field of information technology in order to meet the challeneges of the competititve market.
