Danzas takes over Cargoplan
Danzas is acquiring the Cargoplan/Cargoline group domiciled in Vienna, and strongly positioned in various European countries, which will make Danzas a leading provider of logistics services in Austria and in central and eastern Europe.
Established in 1976, the Cargoplan/Cargoline group generated sales of about 80 million euro in the year 2000 with some 500 employees.
Cargoplan/Cargoline has companies in Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovenia and additional organizations in other eastern European countries, Germany, Scotland, the USA and Canada.
Cargoplan/Cargoline is currently the largest provider of airfreight services in Austria, and also occupies a leading position in this field in Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovenia. For over 25 years Cargoplan/Cargoline was the exclusive partner of AEI (now Danzas) in eastern Europe.
Cargoplan offers daily links from the Vienna hub to Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. Departures for Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine and Russia are offered several times a week.
The group does in warehousing, offering 11,000 m2 of space in Poland, 6000 m2 in Hungary, and 17,500 m2 in Austria.
The head of Cargoline Austria, Uwe Glaser, will wear two hats in the Danzas organization in Austria: Head of the Eurocargo Business Unit and Regional Manager Eastern Europe in the Intercontinental Business Unit.
