Nottelmann heads up Toll Global Forwarding operations in Germany
Toll Global Forwarding, part of Australian logistics and express firm Toll Group, has appointed Siegfried Nottelmann as its new managing director for Germany. Nottelmann had been managing director at Hamburg-based forwarding agents Andree & Wilkerling from 2005 onwards, but the company was acquired by Toll Global Forwarding in August, as part of the company’s ongoing European expansion.
In his new role, Toll Global said Nottelmann would manage the combined Toll Global Forwarding business in Germany, with 100 staff based in offices in Hannover, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf and Stuttgart, as well as Hamburg.
The new MD for Toll Global in Germany began his career in freight in 1981, when he joined the family business as an apprentice, in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, who acquired Andree & Wilkerling in 1946.
Toll Global Forwarding said adding Andree & Wilkerling meant a new diversification to its business in Germany, with the addition of expertise in shipping for the steel and chemicals sectors as well as project forwarding.
The company’s regional MD for Europe and the Middle East, Hakan Bicil, said: “Germany is a strong economy, and still a major industrial powerhouse. The latest developments in Toll’s German operations position us very well to gain market share in both exports and imports.
“We are delighted that somebody with Siegfried’s considerable experience is heading up our business there.”
