DPWN: Global Acquisition Plans on Hold

Deutsche Post (G.DPW) intends to postpone acquisitions plans in the U.S., Europe, and Asia as a result of increased risks caused by the Sept. 11 attacks in the U.S., Chief Executive Klaus Zumwinkel tells Tagespiegel. The economic effects of the attacks is impacting the company’s U.S. air freight and express businesses, said Zumwinkel, adding that fears about anthrax-laced letters could affect the company’s letter business if advertisers limit direct mailing plans.
