Nominations open for top mail industry leadership award
The organisers of the global mail industry’s annual “Oscars” ceremony, the World Mail Awards, are now seeking nominations for the sector’s most inspirational leader. The prestigious Industry Leadership Award will be presented as part of the 2012 Awards, which takes place in Geneva, Switzerland, on 21 May 2012.
Nominations can be made for senior figures within public or private sector organisations of any size operating within the industry.
Triangle Management Services, the organiser of the awards and publisher of Post&Parcel, is now inviting nominations for this year’s Industry Leadership Award.
Nomination forms can be downloaded from the mailawards.com website, and will be accepted until 16 January, 2012.
“This year’s award will recognise the tremendous contribution a senior individual has made to his or her organisation at a pivotal time for the industry,” said Tom Joannou, director of media and events at Triangle.
“While facing continued global economic uncertainty, the physical mail system is facing up to the double-edged sword presented by electronic communications, and has never been so dependent on inspirational and innovative leaders to set it along the right track.”

The CEOs of bpost, Swiss Post, Post Danmark, Australia Post and New Zealand Post are also among the past winners of the award.
Launched in the year 2000, the World Mail Awards developed out of industry discussions at the internationally-recognised World Mail & Express conferences as a way to encourage and publicise best practice within the mail industry worldwide.
