UK courier firm CitySprint rebrands with “We deliver” tagline

UK courier company CitySprint unveiled a new look to its brand yesterday, with a new corporate slogan of “We deliver”. The London-based company, which describes itself as the country’s largest privately-owned same-day distribution network, said that after significant expansion achieved in 2011, the rebrand heralded the next phase of growth.

The new brand is being rolled out to the network’s 2,000 couriers, featuring on uniforms, vehicles and elsewhere, including an updated website.

Patrick Gallagher, the CitySprint chief executive, said the “We deliver” strapline added to the new brand encapsulated his company’s “focus on meeting and going beyond our customers’ expectations”.

CitySprint is backed by the independent equity firm Dunedin, and currently boasts a network of 35 wholly-owned service centres across the UK, with its 2,000 couriers currently reaching 81% of mainland UK within 60 minutes, delivering about 3m items a year.

The company has been growing through a string of acquisitions since 2008, including last year’s takeover of Swindon-based Mainlink Courier Services, and Warrington-based TNM Couriers, as well as its largest acquisition to date, London-based Lewis Day and associated firm Medical Services Ltd.

Growth

Gallagher told Post&Parcel today that his company had also been achieving good organic growth within the same-day market.

“We have experienced significant growth over the past 12 months, partly through acquisitions but in the main, as the result of strong organic revenue uplift,” he said.

“We now have 2,000 couriers and a national network that gives us considerable reach across mainland UK. We have also further enhanced our capabilities in specialist sectors such as retail and healthcare.

“Our strategy is to harness all these assets, carry on innovating and continue to offer customers exceptional service. This will continue to support our market presence and revenue growth,” said the CitySprint CEO.

Information published by the Office of Fair Trading state that following the Lewis Day acquisition CitySprint has less than 10% shares of the same-day courier services market and the overnight delivery market in the UK, and a less than 15% share of the same-day courier market in London.

The company’s share of the medical courier market is currently under 25%, according to the OFT document.
