FedEx and UPS increase rates

FedEx Corp. and UPS will each increase rates 3.5 percent across the board today.
FedEx Express now charges a $1.35 residential delivery fee for nonfreight shipments to residences, and it increased its courier pickup charge from $3 to $4. FedEx Ground’s residential delivery surcharge will increase from $1.30 to $1.35, and the FedEx Home Delivery surcharge will increase from $1.05 per package to $1.10.

On average, residential premium rates for UPS commercial ground services will increase from $1.05 to $1.10. Other UPS increases include an additional charge for deliveries of express letters and packages to residential addresses and expanding the $1.50 delivery area surcharge on certain ground deliveries to include express deliveries.
