TSI IS ACQUIRED BY POSTEN NORGE

Posten Norge, the Norwegian postal company, is to acquire the remaining 20 per cent of Transport Systems International (TSI), the Swedish postal and transportation company. Competition on the package market is thereby intensified. Thomas Tscherning, chief executive of TSI, said that the company will now develop a Scandinavian organisation headquartered in Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm. The postal services in Sweden, Norway and Denmark have been co-operating on packages through Pan Nordic Logistics, PNL, up until last autumn, when Sweden’s Posten abandoned the collaboration. While Sweden’s Posten teamed up with La Poste of France and acquired DSV, the Danish transportation company, the Norwegian company will increase its presence in Sweden by acquiring TSI. PNL will also remain on the market. Abstracted from Dagens Industri Abstracted from Dagens Industri in Swedish. Copyright 2002 Financial Times Information Limited.
