Consignia, Singapore, TPG International Mail Joint Venture to be called Spring

The joint venture international business-mail company formed by TPG, Consignia and Singapore Post has announced the name of its new brand.

From today, the new company that began operating on July 2, 2001, will be known as Spring.

In the Americas, the launch of the new brand is being completed in two stages, with Canada and the United States involved initially. Argentina, Chile and other Latin American countries will adopt the new brand later this year.

Spring's mission is to reshape global mail in the run up to — and beyond — postal liberalization, and to take the industry to new heights by bringing its pioneering brand values to life. As an independent business with its own, definitive culture, Spring will continuously look at new opportunities and innovative solutions beyond the postal world — such as mail fulfillment, customized mail logistics solutions and data management — to give customers greater value and choice.

With the launch of the new brand, Spring breathes new life into the mailing industry. While it has adopted the color schemes of the company's combined parentage, the similarities end there. The look is refreshing and dynamic, yet contemporary and durable. The abstract name, the use of rounded corners, the unusual address location on the stationery, the dot of the 'i' signifying the globe, and the maximum use of white space all signify a change of direction from any other mailing operator.

"We wanted to create something a little special — something that would set us apart from postal authorities," says Theo Jongsma, CEO of Spring. "By daring to be different, we have the freedom to think outside the box, offering our customers choice, innovation and creative mailing solutions."

Spring already offers the widest range ever of delivery and service options for business mail around the world. Its core services are complemented by a range of value-added services including a mailroom software solution titled Mail Manager, an international payment collection service called GlobalCollect(TM), and outsourcing services such as Mailroom Solutions.

In addition, customers now benefit from a truly global network; new, competitive routings; more hand-delivery options than any other mailing company; flexible pricing options; and enhanced security for all their business mail.

"Spring represents a company that's young, vibrant and passionate," says Jongsma. "The new brand speaks volumes about our personality and the way we are going about our business. By combining the skills, expertise and global reach of our parent companies, we can offer customers unrivaled quality of service, innovation and flexibility. We are setting new standards of customer service and delivery options the world over, which will help us to become the leading, independent, world-class provider of global business mail and the number one choice for customers."

TPG has a 51 percent holding in Spring, with Consignia and Singapore Post each taking 24.5 percent stakes. Spring headquarters are based in Amsterdam, with three other regional offices located in New York, Brussels and Singapore. With 1,500 employees serving more than 200 countries, Spring has a truly global presence. It is estimated that Spring will have an annual revenue close to EUR 450 million.
