ATSG adds two Boeing 767s to DHL’s US air network

Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) has said it has deployed two more Boeing 767 freight aircraft in the United States to support DHL’s US air network. The 767-200 and 767-300 freighter aircraft add to 18 767s that ATSG’s ABX Air unit is currently operating for DHL in the US domestic market, 14 of the aircraft owned by ATSG.

The two extra aircraft are on a short-term agreement, effective 1st June, after another carrier removed several aircraft fro DHL’s air network.

ATSG said it was in discussions with DHL regarding the potential for a longer-term deal.

Joe Hete, president and CEO of Ohio-based ATSG, said: “Our strong, long-term relationship with DHL is based in part on our ability to meet both its short- and long-term requirements for access to efficient medium widebody freighters.

“As DHL’s principal source of freighter airlift in North America, we will make every effort to support DHL’s future freighter aircraft requirements as they may develop in the future,” Hete added.
