Neopost teams with RPost to provide registered email

Mailroom equipment specialist Neopost is partnering with US registered email developers RPost to provide their business partners with time-stamped, encrypted registered email services. The service, which would comply with data privacy mandates, is now being introduced for Neopost customers in the Netherlands, and will be available to customers worldwide soon.

Accessible from customers’ existing desktop email software, web-based and mobile email software, it will allow Neopost customers to track and prove delivery for their electronic messages, encrypting information for privacy purposes.

The firms said recipients will not need special software to receive, open, read, sign or reply to registered email messages.

RPost chief executive Zafar Khan said businesses modernising their processes with digital solutions soon realised “plain email is not good enough”, particularly when content is disputed, or when data needs to be privately transmitted.

“Now, RPost and Neopost together eliminate this risk, allowing customers to achieve their modernisation goals with specialised email service designed for high value correspondence, saving time and money, while providing them with the means to better serve their customers, manage corporate and legal responsibilities and reduce transactional problems,” said Khan.

Henri Dura, managing director at Neopost Document Solutions, said many of Neopost’s customers were small and medium-sized businesses that need convenient, efficient tools like registered email.

He promised one “easy-to-use” package to optimise customers’ mailflow management.

Dura said: “With RPost, we bring far greater visibility and control to our customers who choose to conduct their business online, with the added benefit of irrefutable proof to protect against common understandings related to email delivery, content or time.”

Khan said adding the registered email service should expand Neopost’s overall message handling volumes, and move the French company to more of a “complete” digital and physical mailflow market.

He said: “Our user data shows 75% of RPost volumes are migrations from traditional email and fax, and as such we expect this RPost initiative to become a significant market expansion in terms of new message volumes handled by Neopost and new beneficial opportunities for Neopost customers to interact with Neopost.”
