SingPost and Neopost launch online parcel shipping platform
Singapore’s postal service SingPost is launching a new online parcel shipping platform for its commercial logistics customers. The new ezy2ship system makes use of technology from Neopost to allow customers to book domestic and international parcel shipments through a web-based portal that does not require additional software.
The service allows preparation and printing of shipping labels, the scheduling of parcel pick-ups, and access to tracking data.
It also allows shipments to be managed online, the generation of shipping information and printing of end-of-day manifests.
Neopost’s supply chain traceability unit Neopost ID is supplying the technology for the ezy2ship facility, in the form of its Online Shipping Service (OSS).
The system should be available via a website at www. ezy2ship.com from August 2012, with SingPost stating that the service will be expanded to its commercial mail customers and retail customers at a later date.

SingPost unveiled the system as it hosted this year’s World Mail and Express Asia Pacific conference, which continues from today until Thursday at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands resort.

Dr Wolfgang Baier, the SingPost group chief executive officer (pictured top right), said partnering with Neopost to launch the new parcel booking system underlined his company’s intent to grow along with the e-commerce market.
“Ezy2ship offers our corporate customers the speed, simplicity and convenience to use our service. The investment in ezy2ship is an important tool in our strategy to expand our logistics business, and better serve our corporate customers especially small- and medium-sized enterprises as their businesses grow,” he said.
“SingPost will continue to leverage technology to make our solutions more convenient, easier to access and more responsive to customer preferences.”
Clem Garvey, COO Europe, Asia Pacific and ROW for Neopost said the partnership between Neopost ID and SingPost was a “significant step” for his company’s development in the “promising” Asia Pacific region.
He said: “It is our privilege to provide SingPost with our proven OSS platform, one of the most efficient e-shipping solutions in the market. This unique technology is enjoying growing success in Europe and Asia-Pacific thanks to its flexibility and simplicity in integrating the Post’s IT backbone.
The advanced features of the solution enable customers varying from SMEs to high-end industry users to handle, in just a few clicks, Registered Mail and Parcel bookings with additional on-request pickups, providing Tracking and Tracing functionality within a very comfortable customer experience,” added Garvey.
