DHL Express and Vietnam Post launch joint express service
Vietnam Post and DHL Express have launched a new international express delivery service through post offices in Vietnam. The two companies, who have been working together in a joint venture since 2007, said the new VNQuickpost service indicates a deepening relationship between them.
The service will be available initially in the centre of seven major cities – Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hải Phòng, Đồng Nai, Bình Dương, Đà Nẵng và Quảng Nam – before being rolled out to other areas.
VNQuickpost is billed as an economical, secure and rapid delivery service with a tracking system and a 24-hour telephone support line.
It is being targeted at the relatively “untapped” middle-income bracket of the market, sitting between Vietnam Post’s EMS service and the more premium services of DHL Express.
Delivering to more than 220 countries and territories across the world within two to seven days, it will offer a four-day transit time to the US, shaving two days off the transit time of the EMS service.
Nguyen Quoc Vinh, vice president of Vietnam Post, said the partnership with DHL had already brought success for both companies, adding that the new service would deepen the relationship “for years to come”.
“We are confident that with this new service, which combines Vietnam Post’s nation-leading expertise and DHL’s world leading expertise, will prove to be immensely popular with customers here in Vietnam,” he said.
“The new service seeks to provide these customers with prompt and affordable service as compared to other logistics providers in the country.”
Developing
DHL Express said the requirements of people in Vietnam was developing along with the country’s economy.
The new service, it said, now provided more options for international express deliveries at post offices.

Vietnam Post offers 16,000 service points in 63 provinces and cities within Vietnam, a country with a population of about 87m.
The postal operator began its relationship with DHL Express back in 1988, acting as agents for the German-owned logistics giant under a bilateral agreement. The two firms set up a joint venture 51% owned by DHL in January 2007.
DHL has a presence in post offices within about 32 main cities and provinces at present under the joint venture.
