Airborne Contracts With DHL Aviation and Global Delivery Systems for European Express Consolidations

Airborne, Inc. the holding company of Airborne Express, announced today it has contracted with DHL Aviation of Brussels, Belgium and Global Delivery Systems of Jamaica, NY to provide line-haul carriage for the movement of consolidated international express shipments to and from Europe, Africa and the Middle East, effective February 11th. (2/11/2002)

Airborne Express uses a number of line-haul carriers in its network, and will continue pickup, customs clearance and delivery through its own extensive network of wholly owned offices, joint venture and service partners.

“This new agreement is intended to enhance Airborne’s existing international service by reaching a substantial number of markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, on a more direct basis,” said Bruce Grout, Senior Vice President of International Services at Airborne Express.
