Azerpoct intends to use insurance agent licence to promote insurance benefits for population

The Azerbaijan Ministry of Finance has given an insurance agent license to national postal operator Azerpoct LLC.

The Ministry of Communications & IT informs that since the end of 2011 the postal operator has been providing insurance agent services to insurers AtaSigorta and Ateshgah.
“In accord with the signed cooperation agreements Azerpoct renders in its postal branches the services of insurance agent on voluntary and compulsory insurance. This license will enable us to provide all types of insurance services as an insurance agent. Perhaps in the future if the need arises, we will expand the range of partner insurance companies, but today our main goal is propaganda and agitation in favor of the use of insurance services by the population,” the MCIT emphasized.
The Azerbaijani postal operator has the most extensive regional branch network (1,600 branches and sub-branches), and ample opportunities on education and promotion of various types of services to the population.
In addition, Azerpoct claims to be the agent of local banks and non-bank credit organizations.
To date, Azerpoct has opened correspondent accounts in Citibank, Raiffeisenbank, Russia’s Sberbank (Savings Bank), International Bank of Azerbaijan, and Kapitalbank. Azerpoct also offered its services as bank agent to banks and non-bank credit organizations. Currently it is in talks with AccessBank and Finca Azerbaijan.
