Hermes fulfillment arm retains oldest customer in three-year deal
The fulfillment division of parcel delivery company Hermes Germany has retained its oldest external customer, with a new three-year contract extension. Hermes Fulfillment has been picking and packing goods for online electronics retailer Chal-Tec since 2007, and now delivers items to 27 European countries on behalf of the company.
Berlin-based Chal-Tec was founded in March 2006, and its partnership with Hermes started out with the warehousing and delivery of items to just four countries.
Now Hermes is preparing 500,000 items a year for Chal-Tec, which runs multiple online stores including electronic-star.de and ordeal.de and offers a range of 12,400 different products including everything from sound systems and microphones to party lighting, DJ equipment, TVs, car stereos and fridges.
All items are dispatched from Hermes Fulfillment centres, which are specialised in outsourced furniture, electronics and white goods logistics.
Peter Chaljawski, CEO of Chal-Tec, said Hermes Fulfillment had been an “experienced and reliable partner”.
“Thanks to the cooperation we were able to expand our online activities quickly, because in outsourcing our operations we have scalable processing capacity,” he said.
“We are pleased that Chal-Tec continues to rely on our expertise as a full service provider,” said Dieter Urbanke, CEO of Hermes Fulfillment.
