Prime Vision has just released its latest web-enabled service, which aims to automate a number of retail services. The New Retail System (NRS) is a post office retail solution for which Prime Vision has developed dedicated web-based software to automate processes via in-premises terminals. It guides the user through a range of post office products, such as vehicle licensing and the purchasing of gift cards and pre-paid telephone cards.
Prime Vision has worked closely with GUI (Graphical User Interface) designers to ensure the service is simple to execute. Clear menu driven tasks allow the web applications of NRS to be used by anyone without the need for any special training.
The company has built its reputation on systems whose open architecture allows maximum design flexibility now and in the future. The web applications of NRS are no exception to this rule. The system allows the optimum configuration to be applied to each product being automated.
For example, the latest addition, Promotion Services, allows the customer to define business flow and the GUI screens for every new type of promotion to be added to the services product line. The user can change the order of screens to ask for address details and signature or to scan product information.
Post NL, which been operating the pilot version of this product, is now successfully creating its own applications using Prime Vision’s flexible configuration tool. It puts system development firmly in the hands of the customer. Having proven its abilities at Post NL, the web applications for NRS are now available to the postal sector at large.
