Deutsche Post prepares for US acquisitions

Deutsche Post AG, the German postal service operator, is believed to be planning acquisitions in North and South America. It is thought to be planning to expand Danzas and DHL, its subsidiaries, by targeted acquisitions, and has put aside around 150m euros to invest in these businesses.

Last year, the group achieved 5 per cent of its group turnover of 33.4bn euros in the US. However, DHL suffered a loss of around 200m euros.
